Model Vienna
In most people's minds, Vienna represents a musical
tradition that reached its climax in the 19th century. Beethoven,
Schubert, Strauss, Brahms and Liszt, to name just a few, shaped the
world of music. For us they are as alive today as they ever were. Their
glorious music lays its counterpart in the splendid architecture of the
time, which is found on the Ringstrasse. The buildings were designed by
the leading architects of the period, including Theophil Hansen who also
designed a Bösendorfe. Taking this tradition as their model, the
masters at Bösendorfer have created a grand piano which embodies the
essential stylistic features of the 19th century. The classicist
movement of the early 19th century, to some extent, replaced Baroque
ornamental extravaganza by more subdued forms. This is the essence of
the model "Vienna".
